St. Clare's CGHSS has been providing education in Thrissur for over 85 Years. Over that time many things have changed but one thing has remained constant.

St. Clare's Convent Girls' Higher Secondary School Thrissur - one of the famous schools located in the heart of Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala, is located near the Catholic Bishops' House in the East Fort.
St. Clare's Lower Primary School was started in 1924 under the Franciscan Clarist Sisters of Thrissur with the aim of providing free education to girls. It was later upgraded to an Upper Primary School and in 1957 to a High School. In 1998, with the separation of pre-degree courses from colleges, St. Clare's Convent Girls' School was upgraded to a Higher Secondary. Science Batch and Humanities Batches started functioning here from 15th September 1998.
The Lower Primary Section continues to spread the light of knowledge after completing its 101 years. The journey of victory continues today without deviating even a single inch from the founding goal of providing quality, value-based education to poor children, especially for girls. More than 1500 students study in these school complexes.
Completing its 27 years of success, Higher Secondary section continues its triumphant journey by spreading more light. We are very proud to say that the Former Thrissur District Collector Mrs. ANUPAMA T. V. I A S is an alumnus of the Higher Secondary section.
Along with studies, the children of this school also perform brilliantly in the field of arts, sports and science. In 2015, it received the Best Higher Secondary School Award. In 2002, it was ranked as the top student and achieved 100% success. In 2004 and 2020, it achieved 100% success in the plus two category and in 2023, it achieved first place in the Thrissur Corporation as a Silver Jubilee Year Award.
The principals who have led this school since 1998 are - Rev. Sr. Ansleena (1998-2006), Rev. Sr. UShus Aloor (2006-2010), Rev. Sr. Phonsy Maria (2010-2013), Rev. Sr. Shanthi Therese (2013-2015), Rev. Sr Ansmin (2015-2017). Now Rev. Sr. Reena Mandumpal (2017 - )
The 2004 batch alumna of the school, Mrs. Anupama T. V IAS, assuming the post of Collector of Thrissur district, a grand reception was held at St. Clare's, the former school on June 22, 2018. It was a golden day in the history of this school. That day remains unforgettable in our memories even today.
Our school has a good number of students who hold high positions in various parts of the world. In the period 2022-23 in connection with the silver jubilee of this school, the alumni meet was organized in a creative manner. . Various life-giving activities were organized for the general community as part of the jubilee. The Silver jubilee celebration was organized in a very beautiful way on 6 th September 2023. It is a great blessing that this school has many alumni who have excelled in the field of arts & sports.
